So I think I've just come across what very easily could become our new favorite show!!! Check out a preview for Fox's new show, Glee, below.
Yes, it's about the glee club in high school! Yes, it's created by the same minds behind Nip/Tuck. Yes, it's ridiculously fabulous and gay! Yes, it will probably get cancelled!
So one of the recent editions of one of our fave rags, DNA magazine, features a great, extensive write up on my company, Atlantis Events! And, needless to say the tranny that wrote it up featured a shot of yours truly, along with bff's Timmy, Garrett and Toddly about to get our asses rocked on a tow-raft in Mykonos..
So I've been hearing about one of the most recent signs of the looming end of days, the Kindle, for almost a year now, but I just couldn't get myself to get into it. Part of me was put off by the idea of reading without the sensory experience of touch and smell that real, tangible books provide. Part of me, however, was scared I'd like it a little too much and like too many other things in my life, become obnoxiously hooked. Well, I'm happy to report that after downloading the newly available Kindle app on my iPhone, I am hopelessly hooked!! My girl, Jamie, had recommended the intriguingly titled Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs to me a few weeks ago, and I couldn't think of a more appropriate piece of literature to pop my Kindle's cherry.
OK.. So I started this piece of low culture as high culture noshing this weekend while standing in line at various rides at Disneyland. While I'm only 3 chapters in, I have to say I can't think of a work of literature that has so taken over my body and soul since I first discovered Dave Eggers almost 5 years ago. Thanks, Kindle! You've made me literate again ;)
So I've had such a random last few days. Out and about, making my usual rounds through West Hollywood, I have so far run into and been introduced to not just one, but two recent Oscar winners from this year's recent Academy Awards!!
I know!! So random.. First, I got to meet Dustin Lance Black, this year's Oscar winner for Best Screenplay at Fiesta Cantina, which was really a huge honor. I kind of didn't know what to do or say because I kinda have a crush on him and I'm also kind of intimidated by how smart he is! The other night, I also got to meet this year's winner for Best Makeup, Greg Cannom, at Numbers. It was his birthday and I think he was looking for a boy to take home.. You gotta love LA!!
Ok... I know, I know... Most of y'all aren't gonna get this but... But these newly released promo shots remind me, I would soooo have sex with Eminem..
Yeah, he looks gayer than ever, but at least he lost the weight! A release date for Eminem's long-awaited new album has finally been announced! Fem's Relapse will come out on May 19th. The first single from the album and its accompanying video will see a simultaneous release on April 7th. Relapse is the Michigan boy's first original studio album in four years. Lookin' forward to what he's got to offer this time around!!
OK.. so this shit is just tooo juicy not to post!!
I think I've actually posted about this year's newest hanger-on "It" boi, Miley's Justin Gaston more than almost anything else... What can I say?!? The shadiness of it all is just toooo ripe to pass up!! Oh the ghosts from the past!! Hasn't anybody learned that we can never escape them? I hope he's just embracing this all and livin' the dream because he's got nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed by!! I wonder if Bel Ami is casting any new projects...
Apparently, the new issue of Glamour magazine has a spread in their new issue which showcases young gals impersonating "American Icons," such as Lindsay Lohan doing Madonna. Holla!
So I'm lucky to call this guy my friend and I've got to say he's quickly becoming one of my favorite people on Earth!
Please take the time to check out this recent interview featuring Scotty from this season of the Real World from gay blog Queerty.. Fuckin' love this kid..
So it's that time of year again everybody!! South Park is starting to promo their new season on Comedy Central and I can already tell, they'll be comin' back with a vengeance!!
First item of business this season?! The Jonas Brothers and purity rings!! LOLOL!!! I can already tell where this is going to go.. Geeen-iuuuuus!!
Seriously, the clip above from last week really just pulls together the events of the last few months since he went on hiatus in a nutshell!! What a crazy time for Real Time to not be around.. We need you Bill now more than ever!!
ZOMFG, you guys!! So for the past few year's, I've always looked forward to this time.. The time when the most recent sneak-peak trailer for the forthcoming season of The Hills leaks to the internets. Well, according to some reports, this may or may not be the last season we'll be treated to the now notorious and infamous drams that revolutionized the way narrative is communicated televisually (again, in another life, I would have devoted my master's thesis to this show..)
OK, how epic does this final season look? Heidi and Lauren reunite?! Brody and Spencer throw fist to cuff's?! And c'mon.. The whole premise is framed around a psychic who gives LC a reading on her life (which has been documented on the national stage on the internet, television and magazines for the past 5 years now!!) The genius of this all could entice me to go on for days, but I will just leave it at.. I'm settin' the ol' TiVo now!!
So with the attention towards Brothers & Sisters heating up and rumors circulating more and more of trouble-maker Balthazar Getty's looming exit from the show, the brilliant team of writers behind this Emmy winner (and one of the only hour-long scripted network dramas I can bare to sit through) have pulled together a 2-hour long network movie "event" that will reportedly take the show off on a whole new trajectory.
I've only made it a couple scenes in so far but I'm loving how they've pulled this all together.
UPDATE: OK, so I just got all the way through it and I am speechless. So so so well done!! If you've seen it, the whole birth / death (?) sequence between Kitty's new baby and Robert possibly being lost backed to Coldplay's Fix You is exactly the contemporary pop emotional manipulation that hits me to the core!
Somehow I missed all the hoopla leading up to the release of Sober House on VH1 and now after having caught a few clips... I have to admit, if I were to get hooked on this show, I might have to quit my day job because I'd never want to leave the house!
Unlike Celebrity Rehab, which was impossible to bare (an amazing show but for this viewer personally I just took it too raw, too difficult to get through), Sober House brings it all together!! And I frikin' live for Mary Carey and she is sooo at her best in this vehicle... I'll have to put it on my to-do list to save for a rainy day.
So have you all heard how they've just announced that one of the best entities from the 20th century, the cast of 'Seinfeld' is now set to appear on the upcoming season of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (which has been long, long, long overdue to return from it's last season IMHO!!)
Too bad we'll have to wait all the way until the fall but once it finally gets here.. Wow! This set up has bri-zill-iance written all over it!
So we were down in Puerto Vallarta, for Andrew's __ b-day libations and I've gotta say, our home away from home is quickly starting to grow on us so much that it's starting to make LA feel more home away from homey instead. I've posted some fun pix from the weekend below and you can check out the rest over here on myface. ;)
We got back into town on Tuesday, and threw a WeHo celebration the next night.
Yeah.. Being back with all our LA peeps reminded us why we keep coming back to reality.. The rest of the pix are posted over here on my myface, so check 'em out if you want. We're lucky to have such good people in our lives. Besos a todos!!
Holla!! While the production values of her Drag Race reality competition on Logo could definitely use a face lift.. I'll be watching this thing through to the season finale... I mean at this point, it's really just become some kind of duty to the community or something.. We all have to do our part.
So exciting times, y'all!! The long, long anticipated premiere of Watchmen finally premieres this weekend and I gotta say, as much as this graphic novel's transformation to the Cineplexes offers much, it's really all just coming down to checkin' out Billy Crudup's giant, blue p33n!!.
While early reviews so far have proven to be rather mixed, I'm still going to join the masses to take in all the hot fuss. And with the promise of plenny of gratuitious full frontal male nudity.. Something tells me I'm gonna be at least somewhat satisfied with the final product.
So this weekend's going to be a busy one.. Tonight we actually have a lot to catch up with around the house, etc.. Maybe we'll swing by MJ's as it's going to be one of the last week's they're featuring their Friday night event, Swallow.. But tomorrow we're going to try to get up and out early to get down to Anaheim for a whirlwind day at Disney because we can and it's free.. (We are in a recession after all!!) Saturday night we're going to be featuring the Reflex event, Lord of the Drums which we're looking forward to cuz it's been a while since we've done something circuity-esque. Sunday should be pretty kick back for the most part, but we will be stopping by Charity Bingo at MJ's on Sunday sponsored by The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence which always promises to be a good time and then maybe we'll brave the mob scenes for a Watchmen screening or maybe not.. Who knows, all that we do know is life is pretty good, all things considered.
So the Brit Awards last night in London sounded amazing. It's hearing about events like this that make me miss my dear London-town so much. Coldplay played what the Daily Mail and Chris Martin himself dubbed the "best encore ever"Wednesday night, joined by The Killers and U2.
Earlier in the evening, Coldplay lost all their categories at The Brit Awards, and then went over to play War Child charity's 15th birthday. Chris Martin told the crowd, which included Sienna Miller, Anna Friel and No. 1 fan Gwyneth Paltrow: 'We've just got back from Japan, lost all the Brits, it's been a s**t day, but it's going to get better.'
And that it did as they performed a selection of their greatest hits, including tracks from their current record Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends....
'This,' Chris announced, 'is going to be the best encore you've ever seen.'
Gary Barlow emerged to perform Take That's Back For Good with Martin on backing vocals. Then U2 frontman Bono and The Killers joined in to form an impromptu supergroup for a triumphant rendition of Brandon Flowers's All These Things That I've Done.
I recently posted about all the hotness that's been going around lately, and this spread more than deserves to be included. In case you care, this is what he says about her: "I look up to her. It’s nice to have someone there who already knows what’s going on. It helps you plan your next steps."
Yeah, I really didn't care either. But I enjoyed what the red track suit had to say.
Speaking of hotness, have y'all heard how Hugh Jackman will be joined by Dominic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, Beyonce and Zac Efron to bring us all a ferosh song and dance number directed by the one and only Baz Luhrman?!
Okay, just how excited are you for the Oscars now????? I'll be TiVoing the whole thing from Puerto Vallarta but.. Can't wait to finally check it all out!
So there's been a lot of hotness going around lately and there are some boys I wanna take a little time to feature. First of all.. lovvvving how this Portland gay mayor sex scandal is developing.. Deee-lish! As if it couldn't get any better, we're met with this perfect news that our boi Beau Breedlove (still can't get over that name) is continuing his road to success and notability bytaking to the covers of UNZIPPED magazine!!
I mean he already has the name for porn, so why not??! This is exactly what he should be doing! Get it, girl! Get it! Milk that cow! Follow the link to see some more pics of Beau-Beau partying hardy at local WeHo watering hole and regular hang out, Fiesta Cantina. We're sorry we missed him come through town..
Seriously, there's a lot of homo-centric action going around these days.. Is it the Bromance phenomena? Is it a natural backlash to the ridiculous ideology behind such discriminating cultural developments as Proposition 8? Whatever the explanation, keep it coming! And as far as Matt Carney goes, let's keep an eye out on him.. I've got a feeling he's going places ;)
So, hate all you want, but as we approach the return of The Hills and it's 5th (and what should really be its last) season, recently leaked pics and goss from on set are magically making their ways online.
Just like every season beforehand, pubescent tween girls (and 28 year old gay men) everywhere are filled with anticipatory giddiness. I mean, can you blame them? Do you not see that picture of Brody rocking his board???
This image of the remnants of Team Lauren all together on Hawaii's North Shore brings back a lot! Can't wait to see how they'll be featuring what was my home for 2 amazing, magical years. Say what you will, the fact that it's not a documentary isn't the point.. I'll be watching The Hills to the very last frame.
This week has already been a whirlwindand seems to show no time of slowing. Andrew's birthday is this weekend and to celebrate, we'll be heading back to PV to take a few days break from the Rat Race. What!.. A thing to look forward to..
LOS ANGELES — Call her Mamma M.I.A. The Grammy- and Oscar-nominated rapper has announced on her MySpace blog that she has given birth to a son.
The rapper wrote Saturday that her baby is "healthy, fine, beautiful" and the most amazing thing on this planet. She jokes that the two are working together on a tour.
The father is her fiance, musician Benjamin Bronfman. A representative says the couple have declined to release the baby's name.
The "Paper Planes" singer had a scene-stealing performance at the Grammys on Sunday. She strutted on stage with her swollen belly during a performance with Kanye West, Jay-Z, T.I. and Lil Wayne. The rapper says she started going into labor hours later.
I'm loving watching her cross over to dabble in the mainstream. Unfortunately she was woefully underused at the Grammy's. What do y'all think? At this rate, she will live on in that beautiful territory where such seminal, above the fray female artists like Bjork, Tori Amos and Ani DeFranco play.
After 20 years the Simpsons have changed their opening sequence. Tonight the show had its premier in HD and with it brought the first revamp of the main titles since 1989.
While some of the old parts remain (Bart still writes on the chalk board, Lisa still saxes her way out of music class, and Homer still throws radioactive material down his shirt) most of it has changed to catch up on 20-seasons worth of character additions. Apu's octuplets now appear in the opening as do Maggie's nemesis, the unibrow baby, and the crazy Texan millionaire, all added since the original sequence was created.
As a side note to fans, check out Marge's groceries, they have changed to include tomacco juice, and Mr. Sparkle detergent.
Wow, I have to say, the new HD looks great! Kudos them. Loves it.
Seriously, CBS did like zero promotions on this new season. It's not like this show's garnered them countless Emmy's or anything.. I didn't even think to set the ol' TiVo. Thank god for surfthechannel.com! Have y'all heard about this site? Life saver.
So this 3 day weekend was well needed. Remember that movie Falling Down? Yeah, that was about to happen.. I had my first good Valentine's Day in years (thanks to Burrito King), we ran up to Santa Barbara to have a VIP, behind the scenes tour of the zoo thanks to one of my oldest friends, Sam and last night we went off at Club Papi with the boys and a j'amazing performance from Kat DeLuna. Click here to check out some fun clips from the zoo. I've posted my favorite below (tee-hee).
This weekend should fly by. Andrew's off to Puerto Vallarta Wednesday and I'll go down and meet him Saturday for his birthday celebrations. Off to the gym and The Abbey tonight for our boy Jesse's birthday and to give love to Candis and Marco at their weekly show.
As CNN's Political Ticker reported Wednesday, the Daily Show's John Oliver is on his way to the White House:
The White House briefing room is getting a visit from the Daily Show Wednesday. Correspondent John Oliver is speaking with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and several members of the press corps at the White House for an upcoming segment for the Comedy Central show. The Washington Times' Jon Ward was there for Oliver's appearance, and has the details:
As we sat in the White House briefing room waiting for Robert Gibbs to emerge and begin the daily briefing, John Oliver stood in the back of the packed room against a wall on the left side and pretended to fall asleep or nod off while the Daily Show cameraman taped him from across the room. I wonder if that will be cut into their package and shown as if he is doing that while Gibbs is answering questions.
Fierce.
In equally exciting news, the trailer for what I have long been anticipating, Tarantino's latest venture, Inglorious Basterds, has already made its way to the interwebs and I couldn't be more stoked to see the final product start to come together.
August seems so far away...
So we finally made it to Coraline the other night.. (Lesson learned, to avoid the masses, and bridge and tunnel mobs of children, go to the Arclight on a weeknight as opposed to The Grove on a Saturday afternoon of opening weekend..)
It's tempting to go on for hours about the profound experience I had watching this special, timely piece of cinema. And while those who are unfamiliar with the source material (Neil Gaiman's brilliant graphic novel) may be a little jarred at first by the world of this film and while the last act may hit a few pacing problems, the overall intent of Coraline proves uniquely profound and special. I can feel myself about to go off on this but I will leave that tothose who've already astutely chimed in. Go see this movie, now. (A-)
So I'm counting the days to this weekend. Valentine's Day should be nice, we're doing a trip up to Santa Barbara on Sunday to see my girl Sam and the rest is up to us ;)
I'VE GOT A CUTE FACE. HOT WAIST. FIT LEGS. IN SHAPE. RUMP SHAKING. BOTH WAYS. MAKE YOU DO A DOUBLE TAKE. SHOW STOPPER. FLOW DROPPER. HEAD KNOCKER. BEAT SCHOLAR. DO MY THING. MOTHERFUCKERS. FOR 32 YEARS I WAS A TEENAGE RUNAWAY. I WAS A BOOZER, A USER AND A LOSER. MY FRIENDS WERE DEALERS, CONS AND 18-CARAT PIMPS. BUT NOW I'M OUT OF JAIL AND PICKING UP MY LIFE EXACTLY WHERE I LEFT OFF. I'M BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL, LIVING AT HOME AND DISCOVERING ALL SORTS OF THINGS ABOUT MY BODY. I'M FINDING OUT THAT THOUGH THE FACES HAVE CHANGED, THE HASSLES ARE JUST THE SAME.
